I loved every over the top, cheesy, lovey dovey moment of it! Shielding Lily is cheesy at times, and will have some people rolling their eyes in exasperation. I say this because I know lots of people hate that. Riley takes insta-love to a whole new level with this. Ren’s parents are really understanding of the insane speed of the relationship because their love was the same. Lily’s father is abusive and she hides it from Ren. Both of them have never dated or even kissed before so its super sweet.

He takes her under his wing and they are dating within a day. Lily is the new girl at school and Ren falls in love with her at first sight. I am so in love with this book! Shielding Lily is my first Alexa Riley book and its one of those books that makes me smile the entire time! Saccharine sweet and over the top but I adored every page! We’re talking two virgins who turn into maniacs. Ren and Lily start off so innocent, but by the time it’s over, you’re gonna need to hose yourself off. Warning: Call your dentist and schedule an appointment, because you’re going to get nothing but cavities from this sugary book. It’s one of protecting what belongs to you and having the courage to follow your heart, no matter your age.
